Artist database

The Artist database contains additional information about artists. The artist database dialog has the following sections:

Artists available in artist database

This lists shows all the artists currently available in the database. The artist is shown as a whole (first-name last-name), but also by last-name. The artist name can be splitted into two pieces first-name and last-name in the Artist editor. For bands starting with The, you can put the word The as first-name and the group name as last-name. That way you can also choose to sort on last-name instead of first-name which also works for groups starting with The then. See also the Presentation page of the preferences dialog.
