Artist / Group

Choose here if the artist concerns an artist or group. Some fields change according this choice.

Name

Enter the name of the artist here. You can enter separate first-name and last-name. That way you can also choose to sort on last-name instead of first-name which also works for groups/bands starting with The then. See also the Presentation page of the preferences dialog.

Information

Country
The country of the artist or group.

Language
The language used by the artist or group.

Members
In case of a band you can enter the members in this list.

Born/Formed
In case of an artist you can enter the date borned. In case of a group you can enter the date formed.

Died/Disbanded
In case of an artist you can enter the date died. In case of a group you can enter the date disbanded.

Genre
The genre of the artist or group.

Biography
The biography of the artist or group.

Homepage
You can enter a link to a homepage here. When this field is filled, the homepage button in the album info comes available at the artist page.

MusicBrainz ID
This fields keeps the MusicBrainz ID. This ID is used for lookups in several databases on the internet. It is a well known ID and originating from the MusicBrainz database.

Google, MySpace, AMG, Last.fm and Wiki
These buttons can be used to find additional information for the artist on the internet.

Manage Artist Images
Using this button you can open the artist images dialog to be able to asign artist pictures. This images can be viewed from the album info and for the artist overview to select the albums for that artist.

Disable Auto Lookup of Images for this Artist
If you check this option you prevents that automatic lookup adds images for this images. Only images will be added by the user itself.

Modify Picklists
This button opens the Category editor . From there you can modify the picklists shown for artist attributes.
